According to Computer Weekly, a study by cloud case management service eCase shows U.K. government data protection officers are overwhelmed by the increased work volume created by the EU General Data Protection Regulation. A poll of DPOs showed 70% acknowledged increased workloads, while 40% said they lack proper resources to manage the added tasks. The increased activity reported in the study is supported by a separate report from law firm RPC showing a 34% increase in breach notifications to the U.K. Information Commissioner's Office in the last year.
