A study by researchers at Cambridge University found artificial intelligence tools used for hiring do not reduce recruitment bias, BBC News reports. The study found nearly a quarter of 500 human resources professionals surveyed used automated AI for recruitment, but University of Cambridge Centre for Gender Studies researcher Kerry Mackereth said the tools “can’t be trained to only identify job-related characteristics and strip out gender and race from the hiring process.”
