A recent study by privacy site vpnMentor found that only 34 percent of European websites appeared to be compliant ahead of the EU General Data Protection Regulation implementation next month, Infosecurity Magazine reports. The survey analyzed 100 websites in each EU member state that vpnMentor identified as being subject to GDPR requirements. The firm states that while the GDPR will make it necessary to have privacy policies clearly reflect how data is collected and used, it said, “Most of the websites we checked either had old privacy policies, and in some cases no privacy policy at all, and are in no way ready for the stricter privacy guidelines that take effect next month.”
