CNET reports researchers from the International Digital Accountability Council conducted a study showing privacy issues with educational technology applications being used worldwide. Researchers found that 79 out of 123 manually tested apps share a range of personal data, including name, email address and location data, while more than 140 third parties, including Facebook and Google, were receiving the data. Meanwhile, Schwarz Group Managing Partner Joel Schwarz, CIPP/G, wrote an op-ed regarding the lack of enforcement on edtech privacy violations.
