A LoopMe study, titled “Understanding Consumer Ad Preferences & Online Data Regulations,” found 15% of consumers in the U.S. and 18% in the U.K. understand how companies use their online data for advertising, MediaPost reports. Thirty-four percent in the U.S. and 48% in the U.K. said they do not read cookie and privacy policies before browsing online. Consumers also do not believe their online data is more secure than it was a year ago, the study found.
