An investigation by the Electronic Frontier Foundation found dozens of petitions and protests by students objecting to the forced use of exam-monitoring software, citing privacy concerns, ZDNet reports. Schools with active petitions include the University of Texas at Dallas, Miami University and The City University of New York, as well as colleges in the U.K., Canada and Italy. The petitions raise “very real privacy concerns” regarding biometric data collection, student surveillance and access to students’ devices, the EFF said.
