Shari Steele announced she will step down from her position as the executive director of the Tor Project at the end of the year, CyberScoop reports. Steele has served in the role since 2015, when she came into the position after serving as the executive director of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. “I had intended to retire after my time with EFF, but I believed strongly in the Tor Project’s mission, and I felt I could help,” Steele said. “I look at the Tor Project organization today and feel quite confident that we’ve got the talent and the structure to continue to support the organization’s great work.” The Tor Project has released the job posting for Steele's replacement.
