Newsday reports State Sen. Kevin Thomas, D-N.Y., indicated he is working on draft legislation to address some employee privacy concerns stemming from COVID-19 and potential workplace surveillance. With talk of symptom checks and other invasive data collection related to employee health and safety, Thomas' bill would require employers to delete any data collected on an employee after 14 days. "This data shouldn’t be held on a server for long periods of time," Thomas said.
