South Africa's Information Regulator announced it is seeking legal advice on how to force WhatsApp to revise its controversial privacy policy. The regulator issued a request for WhatsApp to align its policy with EU standards, but the company hasn't agreed to any such change to this point. Information Regulator Chairperson Pansy Tlakula said her office is prepared to "take this matter further and seek legal opinions and advocate for collaborated efforts." WhatsApp recently eased the deadline for users to accept its policy change.
