Information Security Researcher Troy Hunt uncovered a data breach that includes millions of South Africans' personal information, TechCentral reports. The breach is believed to have taken place in March and contains data that dates back to the early 1990s, exposing more than 30 million unique South African ID numbers, as well as details of property ownership, employment history, income and company directorships. Hunt said the data “is definitely floating around between traders.” While the source of the breach is unknown, there are indications that it may have been sourced from the government, the report states.
