Fallout from the massive Sony Pictures hack continued as a slew of reports emerged noting sensitive information—including medical and financial data—was leaked online, Fusion reports. Kashmir Hill notes former employees have said the hack “was a long time coming,” that the company had a culture of poor data security for years and that out of 7,000 employees, only 11 were part of an information-security team. The incident also exposed personal data of many Hollywood stars, including the Social Security numbers of 47,000 current and former employees. BuzzFeed reports the company will likely face a class-action lawsuit. Attorney Brian Strange said, “I think they violated basic industry standards for encryption of employees’ information.”
