SolarWinds CEO Sudhakar Ramakrishna suggested U.S. lawmakers should look at creating a liability shield for companies that report data breaches and cyberattacks, Nextgov reports. Ramakrishna's pitch comes ahead of meetings with U.S. Congress regarding the cyberattack against federal agencies via SolarWinds software in December 2020. The protection provided by a liability shield may allow breached organizations to "step forward and step quickly and step in a timely fashion," according to Ramakrishna.
