The International Business Times reports U.K. business software company Sage suffered a data breach, potentially compromising the personal information for employees in 280 U.K. businesses. Sage did not specify when the attack occurred, or whether the information was stolen, or viewed. "We believe there has been some unauthorised access using an internal login to the data of a small number of our U.K. customers so we are working closely with the authorities to investigate the situation," the company said in a statement. Meanwhile, 20 top U.S. hotels were infected with point-of-sale malware, possibly leaking customer financial data. HEI Hotel & Resorts suffered the attack, with the company operating hotel chains such as Starwood, Marriott, Hyatt and Intercontinental. Editor’s Note: The IAPP will be hosting a Data Breach Bootcamp workshop at the Privacy. Security. Risk. conference from Sept. 13-16 in San Jose, California.
