Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission issued fines of $20,000 and $10,000 to the Civil Service Club and Grabcar, respectively, for violations of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012. The Civil Service Club was penalized for leaving member profile photographs and NRIC/FIN numbers publicly accessible. Grabcar was found to lack security measures to prohibit unauthorized access of GrabHitch drivers’ and passengers’ personal data via its mobile application.
