U.S. Senate Democrats penned a letter to online test administrators ExamSoft, Proctorio and ProctorU seeking information on their student privacy practices, EdScoop reports. Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Ron Wyden, D-Ore., Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., Tina Smith, D-Minn., Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Cory Booker, D-N.J., wrote seeking details on "steps that your company has taken to protect the civil rights of students" with an aim to ensure companies are "not creating barriers for students’ futures." The lawmakers noted alleged data security and software bias issues.
