Sens. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., and Chris Coons, D-Del., who have been tasked with investigating consumer privacy, recently sent a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos seeking answers to a recent incident involving an Amazon Echo device and to better understand what the company is doing to protect users' personal information, Wired reports. Coons said, "This incident makes it clear we don't fully understand the privacy risks we’re taking," adding, "Amazon owes it to the American people to be clearer about what’s happening with this technology." In the letter, the senators asked Amazon to report the number of complaints received related to the Echo misinterpreting a command, as well as details on their data-collection, storage and protection operations.
