The Senate Commerce Committee is scheduled to vote next week on nominations for Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai and agency commissioner nominees Jessica Rosenworcel and Brendan Carr, as well as on the nomination of David Redl as head of the National Telecommunications & Information Administration, Multichannel News reports. This vote would restore the FCC, which currently has two members, to a full commission ahead of its vote on rolling back Title II, its review of media ownership rules, and the vote on a new transmission standard for broadcasters. The nominees already have had hearings, and an affirmative vote would pass their nomination to the Senate ahead of the scheduled August recess.
