Bloomberg reports U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is prepared to introduce a bill that would ban technology companies from employing encryption and revoke liability exemptions related to incidents involving children. Social media companies, cloud service providers and various online messaging platforms would be covered under the bipartisan bill. The proposal also asks Congress and the Trump administration to create a National Commission on Online Child Exploitation Prevention to lead analysis of best practices for tech companies to protect children online.
