The fallout from rideshare service Uber continues this week as news emerges that Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) has sent CEO Travis Kalanick a letter questioning the company’s privacy practices, PCWorld reports. Franken said he is concerned about a “troubling disregard for customers’ privacy, including the need to protect their sensitive geolocation data.” Franken asks Uber 10 questions in the letter, including, “To who is the so-called ‘God view’ tool made available and why?” In response, Uber has announced it has hired Harriett Pearson, CIPP/US, and Hogan Lovells to review and strengthen its privacy practices.
