Select airports across the European Union are embarking on a six-month trial of a new artificial intelligence system, called iBorderCtrl, designed to streamline border control efforts and determine whether a traveler is lying or not, Mashable reports. According to New Scientist, the system will be rolled out at four border crossings in Hungary, Greece and Latvia. Travelers will be asked a series of questions, and iBorderCtrl will, in turn, analyze the user’s expressions and, if the answers are deemed untrue, will pass along the traveler's biometric data to a human agent who can assess the case.
