A $10 million settlement between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and analytics firm App Annie over data practice allegations shows regulators are tightening enforcement of data and cybersecurity practices, The Wall Street Journal reports. “We see this as not just a precedent in terms of what actions might come against data vendors, but it really, finally gives us some insights into how the SEC thinks about the risks associated with these data products,” Schulte Roth & Zabel Partner Kelly Koscuiszka said.
