Visitors to Seattle’s Safeco and CenturyLink fields are now able to make concession stand purchases with the scan of a fingerprint through a partnership with biometric verification company Clear, SportTechie reports. A new regulation recently adopted by Washington ushered in the first instance of biometric data used to replace age verification and credit card payment. Driven by a desire to gather fan data and improve the fan experience, biometric ticketing and concession buying are thought to experience an increase in use. Clear Head of Sports and Events Lauren Stangel said the company is in active talks to develop similar biometric concession stands across other states.
