Reuters reports U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., announced intentions to raise a final Senate vote this week to confirm Alvaro Bedoya as U.S. Federal Trade Commissioner. Vice President Kamala Harris will represent the deciding vote in what is expected to be a 50-50 Senate confirmation vote on party lines. It will be the second time Harris' vote decides the outcome of Bedoya's nomination as she previously broke a Senate stalemate on advancing Bedoya out of the Senate Commerce Committee. Bedoya's confirmation would give the FTC a Democratic majority.
