Austrian privacy activist Max Schrems scored a small win Monday when Austria’s Supreme Court referred his case to the European Court of Justice. Schrems wants his case against Facebook to be heard as a Europe-wide class-action lawsuit, comprising thousands of users, Reuters reports. Facebook has said the Austrian courts don’t have jurisdiction in the case and can’t be heard as a class action on behalf of other consumers. Thus far, more than 25,000 signed over their claims against Facebook to be fought under Schrems’ name, as allowed for under Austrian law.
