Colleges and universities have a large amount of student data in their possession, and now those institutions have to deal with the California Consumer Protection Act. The CCPA may be the most challenging form of data protection regulations colleges and universities have had to face since the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. In this article for The Privacy Advisor, Joshua Metayer, CIPP/US, writes about what these institutions of higher learning need to know as they get ready for the CCPA.
