The Office of the Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner found Good Spirit School Division violated the privacy rights of a student by identifying the individual who threatened the school in a letter, CTV Regina reports. The school sent the letter about a gun threat earlier this year containing the student involved with the threat and information about their family. The commissioner’s report states Good Spirit acted properly by self-reporting itself to the office. The student’s family had also filed a complaint. The report contained recommendations for Good Spirit, including updating its policies and procedures to prevent future breaches.
