Authorities in the province of Saskatchewan will not identify hotels in five communities where, due to COVID-19, people quarantined for 14-day stints between April and September, citing privacy laws, CBC News reports. Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Social Services reported 390 people accessed these “assisted self-isolation hotel” stays. Lawyer Andrew Mason said legislation covers the government’s disclosure of health-related information and must balance “the right of individuals to have their health information protected and the obligation of government to protect public health.”
