A Russian photographer’s project looks to show how an individual’s private life is becoming less and less private, PCWorld reports. Egor Tsvetkov, a student at the Rodchenko Art School, created an experiment titled “Your face is big data,” where he took pictures of nearly 100 people sitting across from him on the subway, then used the facial-recognition app FindFace to discover them on VK, a Russian social media site. Tsvetkov located about 60 to 70 percent of the people he photographed who were between 18 and 35 years old. While Tsvetkov said learning about his subjects’ lives was uncomfortable, his project served a valuable purpose. “My point in this art project is to show how technology breaks down the possibility of a private life,” Tsvetkov said. “It shows us the future.”
