Reuters reports the Russian government has rolled out facial-recognition technology in Moscow to ensure coronavirus patients remain quarantined. Moscow law enforcement is in charge of the system, which accounts for 2,500 individuals known to be infected by the virus. "Compliance with the regime is constantly monitored, including with the help of facial recognition systems and other technical measures," Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. Meanwhile, leaked documents revealed the EU's potential plans for a network of national police facial-recognition databases.
