The Better Business Bureau said robocall-blocking services offered by cellphone companies or applications come with privacy and effectiveness concerns, CTV News reports. Call-blocking apps use call data and user reports to identify scam calls, giving users options to block and screen calls. But BBB Communications Specialist Shawna-Kay Thomas said there are concerns that an app may expose personal information or send device and user data to third parties.
