In a letter to the six Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Safe Harbor programs, U.S. Reps. Kathy Castor, D-Fla., and Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., requested information to ensure the programs are meeting their obligations. Castor and Schakowsky wrote “there are signs that COPPA Safe Harbor organizations are not adequately doing their job,” requesting answers to questions about the programs’ operations, protections provided to children, feedback on amending the COPPA rule to improve the Safe Harbor program and more.
