The U.K. Parliament's Taskforce on Innovation, Growth and Regulatory Reform filed a report recommending the government reform its data protection regulation to something more protective and stringent than the EU General Data Protection Regulation. In addition to suggesting an increase in consumer rights and accountability for companies, the task force said, "GDPR is already out of date and needs to be revised for (artificial intelligence) and growth sectors if we want to enable innovation in the U.K."
