Northwest Territories Information and Privacy Commissioner Elaine Keenan Bengts said medical records found at the Fort Simpson landfill in 2018 may have been stolen, CKLB Radio reports. In a report investigating the breach, Keenan Bengts said initial claims that the records were found at the dump may not be true. Instead, the files may have been stolen from a health and social services building, the report stating there were no “safeguards in place for the protection of the records.”
