Transportation was the second-most targeted industry in the world for ransomware and “nation-state backed advanced persistent threat” actors in the third quarter of 2022, The Economic Times of India reports. According to cybersecurity firm Trellix’s quarterly “The Threat Report,” U.S. ransomware attacks increased 100% quarter-over-quarter in the transportation and shipping industries. Germany saw the highest increase of ransomware and APT attacks last quarter at 32% and 29%, respectively.
