A report from the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Privacy Association finds students' privacy is negatively impacted by a patchwork of protections implemented by the province, Glacier Media reports. The group called out the province for contracting work to third parties, which could leave students' information vulnerable to hackers. “Without the resources, guidance and supports they need, teachers, schools and districts are making the best of a bad situation. The result puts personal information in the system at risk,” FIPA Executive Director Jason Woywada, CIPP/C, CIPM, said.
