The New York Times identified multiple Clearview AI investors, clients and friends who freely accessed its facial-recognition technology for more than a year. These individuals used the technology “at parties, on dates and at business gatherings, giving demonstrations of its power for fun or using it to identify people whose names they didn’t know or couldn’t recall.” Clearview Founder Hoan Ton-That said trial accounts were provided to investors and partners to test the technology.
