An investigation has revealed more than 400 U.K. city councils have allowed some form of third-party tracking on their websites by private companies, the Guardian reports. The tracking occurred on portions of the website pertaining to sensitive matters, including sections on financial help and substance abuse. Most councils allowed a handful of companies to track their sites, while Enfield and Sheffield City councils provided information to 25 third-party companies.
