Euractiv reports on comments from EU officials stating that a delegation of senior U.S. officials in Brussels, including Department of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, indicates the "'seriousness by which the Americans are progressing' in their management of the deal." The comments come as the European Commission conducts its second annual review of the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield agreement. In a tweet, EU Justice Commissioner Věra Jourová‏ said Shield "is a commercial success" and that a European Commission report "will be published before the end of the year." Other U.S. officials include the Department of Justice, the State Department, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Federal Trade Commission. In published remarks, FTC Chairman Joe Simons said the agency "will continue to aggressively enforce" the agreement, adding, "You also can expect further FTC privacy enforcement."
