Fraud intelligence company Gemini Advisory said the data breach at convenience store chain Wawa ranks among the “largest payment card breaches of 2019, and of all time,” comparable to earlier Home Depot and Target breaches, ZDNet reports. On Monday, the payment card details of more than 30 million Americans were put up for sale on a fraud forum and can be tracked back to Wawa, which, in December, disclosed malware had been installed on its payment-processing servers and operated undetected for months. “We have alerted our payment card processor, payment card brands, and card issuers to heighten fraud monitoring activities to help further protect any customer information,” a Wawa news release said.
