A report from CBI states artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the internet of things will become mainstream components over the next five years, Infosecurity Magazine reports. The report, titled "Disrupting the Future," finds half of U.K. businesses believe AI will fundamentally transform their sector, but only a third feel their organization has the ability to successfully adopt the technology. The CBI claims businesses are concerned about the privacy of devices when looking to incorporate the IoT, with the organizations urging the U.K. government to pass the Data Protection Bill in order to give companies the proper amount of time to prepare for the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The CBI also outlined the need to avoid fragmentation at both the domestic and international level when using blockchain technology. Editor's note: The IAPP has released "The Age of the Cyberpro" in our resource center, a paper documenting that pros in the cybersecurity, privacy, and information technology fields learn more about the others' silos.
