In a submission for a Parliamentary inquiry on cybersecurity, the Information and Privacy Commission of New South Wales revealed a 171% increase in advice requests from government entities and officials over the last four years, iTnews reports. The IPC noted the uptick in requests stems from questions related to the "preservation and exercise of rights" under the digital government strategy released in 2017. Along with its revelation, IPC presented its support for NSW's potential adoption of a mandatory data breach notification scheme.
