Following months of speculation and build-up, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission announced a $5 billion fine against Facebook Friday. The FTC approved the settlement by way of a 3-2 vote along party lines. The deal now goes to the Department of Justice Civil Division for a review before the settlement can be finalized. While neither Facebook nor the FTC provided comment regarding the fine, U.S. lawmakers had plenty of feedback to offer.
