The Royal Canadian Mounted Police announced it will only use Clearview AI’s services under "very limited and specific circumstances," CBC News reports. RCMP Spokesperson Catherine Fortin said in an email the agency’s review of Clearview’s facial-recognition technology is "ongoing," adding it will only use the services in "exigent circumstances for victim identification in child sexual exploitation investigations, or in circumstances where threat to life or grievous bodily harm may be imminent." New Democratic Party MP Charlie Angus has called on the Liberal government to stop the RCMP's use of Clearview AI.
