Publishers are calling on advertisers to help protect data in an open letter published by BPA Worldwide, Adweek reports. The groups are asking third-party advertising technology companies to stop harvesting publisher data. “The overall issue is the loss of revenue — both real and potential — to the derivative works created by bidstream data leakage,” BPA President and CEO Glenn Hansen said. BPA is planning to host virtual town halls and establish industry standards.
