State attorneys general across the U.S. formed an “Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force,” PC Magazine reports. The task force is composed of prosecutors from all 50 states and could sue telecommunications providers that “facilitate” robocalls from other countries. So far, 20 robocall gateway providers have been issued subpoenas. A study found 60 million Americans lost money to a phone scam in a 12-month interval, with the majority of scams emanating from robocalls.
