The Trump administration’s $4.8 trillion budget proposal includes increased funding for artificial intelligence research and quantum computing, The New York Times reports. The proposal would direct $249 million to the Defense Department’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and $850 million to the National Science Foundation for AI research. Twenty-five million dollars would be allocated to the Energy Department to build a network connecting its 17 national research labs and explore quantum encryption technologies.
