A National Science Foundation grant has catapulted the University of Chicago-Argonne National Laboratory "Array of Things" data-collection project into the construction phase, but project leadership promise the security-minded that a privacy policy will be the final step before it's all systems go, Chicago Tribune reports. "We are trying to create something where the people are watching the city; it's the polar opposite of the city watching the people," said the project's head scientist, Charlie Catlett. "This is fiercely protective of privacy." While the privacy policy has been in the works for over a year, "city officials said it's still in the draft stage, and Catlett said the sensors will not go up until the policy is finalized," the report continues.
