A new platform makes remote identification of drones and their activity possible, Government Technology reports. The InterUSS Platform Open Source Project, hosted by the nonprofit Linux Foundation, is a downloadable app that provides information on what the drone is doing, who it belongs to, its license number and whether it is authorized to fly in the area. Law enforcement will receive more detailed information. The platform also enables interoperability between drone software so pilots can exchange information without requiring personally identifiable information about the pilots.
