The Future of Privacy Forum and Brussels Privacy Hub published a report on the "Brussels Privacy Symposium 2020: Research and the Protection of Personal Data Under the GDPR," held in December 2020. Industry privacy leaders, academic researchers and regulators discussed data protection risks and vulnerabilities in the context of scientific research, many of which were brought to the forefront during the COVID-19 pandemic, including algorithmic learning and artificial intelligence, cross-border access to data, and using sensitive data in research to counter bias and discrimination.
