Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner Stephen Wong has stated that data protection efforts should not override innovation, especially with drones, the South China Morning Post reports. He added that “drones play a leading role in developing emerging technologies, marking a shift in his office’s stance on the unmanned aerial vehicles,” the report states. “Fair enforcement” was necessary, he said. “Fair means we don’t just enforce the law according to the letters of the legislation, [but] also the intention and spirit.”
